Salma is an educator, edtech builder, and education entrepreneur based in the UAE, working at the intersection of AI in education, language learning, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Her work focuses on how emerging technologies can be thoughtfully designed and integrated into learning ecosystems in ways that amplify educator expertise, student agency, and human connection. She builds initiatives that bridge research, design, and practice, with a strong emphasis on equity, multilingualism, and inclusion across diverse learning contexts. She works as a connector of people and ideas, bringing together educators, researchers, designers, and policymakers to co-create more human-centered and future-ready learning systems grounded in dignity and human flourishing. She is an Assistant Professor of Education at Sharjah Education Academy and a scholar-practitioner in AI-enhanced learning and multilingual education. She holds a PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the University of Pittsburgh.
