Dr. Peter Yau is am Assistant Professor of Computing Science with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, specialising in artificial intelligence, software engineering, computing education, and digital transformation.
He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE), Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), and an ABET Programme Evaluator. Complementing his computing expertise, he holds postgraduate qualifications in Management, Law, and Education, enabling him to bridge technology, governance, pedagogy, and institutional leadership.
Prior to academia, he gained multinational consultancy experience with a proven track record in leading large scale technology and enterprise system deployments across public and private sectors. His research translates empirical evidence into practical strategies for ethical AI, competency based assessment, and responsible AI adoption, helping institutions implement AI with confidence, integrity, and measurable educational impact.
