Profile
Mafalda Coelho is an early years educator, Montessori practitioner, mentor and pedagogical leader with experience in international educational contexts. Her work is shaped by a strong interest in how teachers grow within school communities, and in how schools can create conditions for reflective, collaborative and meaningful professional practice.
Alongside her classroom experience, Mafalda has held leadership and mentoring responsibilities, supporting teachers in their daily practice, contributing to pedagogical reflection and helping to build school cultures grounded in trust, dialogue and continuous learning. Her experience includes Montessori environments and international professional learning initiatives connected to Montessori education in the Middle East.
She is currently completing a Master’s in Pedagogical Supervision at Universidade Aberta. Her dissertation explores pedagogical supervision as a pathway for teachers’ professional development through a multiple case study of Montessori schools in Portugal, the United Kingdom and Dubai. Her current interests include pedagogical supervision, teacher development, mentoring, reflective practice and pedagogical leadership.
