Karina Bustamante is a language educator and educational consultant with over twenty years of experience in international education. Her expertise includes IB inquiry-based pedagogy, concept-based curriculum design, bilingual education, and world language instruction, with a strong focus on student agency, intercultural competence, and meaningful learning. She is passionate about designing learning experiences that foster international-mindedness, global citizenship, and intercultural understanding while honouring students’ languages, cultures, and identities.
She has taught languages in diverse international settings in New York and Dubai and currently teaches at Repton School Dubai. She also serves as an educational consultant for Difusión (Spain) and Klett World Languages (USA), contributing to curriculum development, teacher professional learning, and innovative language-learning resources. A frequent presenter at international conferences, she shares practical approaches to inquiry-based language learning and multilingual education.
Karina holds a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Barcelona, along with a Certificate in Language Program Management and a TESOL Certificate from Teachers College, Columbia University.
