Mr. Desai currently serves as the CEO and Head of School at Saddle River Day School, where he is deeply committed to fostering academic excellence and innovation. His work focuses on creating a dynamic learning environment that supports student growth, cultivates entrepreneurial thinking, and emphasizes AI and STEM education. By championing personalized instruction and empowering faculty, Jalaj ensures that the school’s educational practices reflect the values and aspirations of its diverse community.

Mr. Desai is actively leading the efforts to promote the responsible use of AI at SRDS. He also played a key role in the development and launch of SRDS.ai, a platform designed specifically for students and faculty. He has also been invited by NAIS and the Middle States Association to participate in podcasts on AI in education.

Mr. Desai brings over a decade of leadership experience to his role. He began his career in education in 2002 at Dwight-Englewood School, followed by Rutgers Preparatory School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a master’s degree in Computer Science, and a master’s degree in Education Leadership.
