Dr. Husain Alturkistani is an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And a Consultant Interventional Radiologist. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Abdulaziz University before joining the Department of Radiology at King Saud University as a Demonstrator. All his ambitions throughout his career were to be a teacher rather than a physician. But why not combine the 2 of them, being the teacher of medical students?
He was awarded a scholarship to France, where he completed the French Board in Diagnostic Radiology, followed by advanced fellowship training in Interventional Radiology and Research in Canada. Upon completing his international training, he returned to King Saud University in 2016 and has since combined clinical excellence with a strong commitment to medical education.
Dr. Alturkistani has a particular interest in undergraduate medical education, curriculum development, and innovative teaching methods. From 2019 to 2021, he served as Head of the Undergraduate Committee and Radiology Curriculum Organiser. During this period, he led several educational initiatives and was highly regarded by students for his dedication, accessibility, and passion for teaching.
