Clive Gibson is Assistant Principal for Educational Technology and Lab School Lead at Star International School, Mirdif, Dubai, the only ISP Lab School in the Middle East. He leads the school’s work on educational technology, AI integration, digital strategy and innovation, supporting staff and students to use technology in ways that have a clear impact on learning.

A former science and physics teacher, Clive brings a classroom-first approach to EdTech, focusing on practical implementation, teacher workload, assessment, feedback and student outcomes. He has led the rollout of tools such as Formative, Exact Path, Flash Academy, Google Workspace Plus and AI-supported learning systems across the school. His work is guided by the principle of “Screen Value, not Screen Time”, ensuring technology is only used where it improves learning, teaching or efficiency.

Clive is also a founding member of the Dubai AI Think Tank and has spoken at education events including GESS and the Abu Dhabi Teaching Conference. He is passionate about helping schools move beyond excitement around AI and EdTech towards thoughtful, ethical and evidence-informed implementation.
