The focus of my interest is innovation in education and have published about 50 papers dedicated to education and projects that promote STEM education. For my work, I have been awarded by the European schoolnet from Brussels, Serbian Center for Science Promotion, the Euroguidance-European network for career counseling, Epale-European network for adult learning. Two years in a row, I have been selected as one of three hundred the most innovative Microsoft teachers in the world. Besides my work in the school, I have established an association that promotes education in rural areas and to vulnerable groups. I have been awarded by CEEPUS scholarship and spent several months at the University Johannes Kepler in Linz in Austria where I worked on innovative teaching approaches in STEM education. Also, I have spent six weeks at Kent State University in Ohio, USA, due to a Fulbright scholarship and gained knowledge in using technology and media literacy in education. Currently, the focus of my work is teaching STEM subjects through art activities, and I have collaborated with artists and museums and developed strategies of teaching STEM subjects through art, dance, and poetry since I believe that besides teaching STEM content it contributes to the students well being.

Podcast as a communication channel that supports girls in future STEM careers

The presentation is showcasing the use of podcast as a contemporary and popular channel of communication.  In order to bring modern trends into education we have established a school podcast where students are exploring the topic of their interest in this form. The first season of the podcast is related to supporting girls in choosing STEM careers, where professionals, students, and teachers are talking about this relevant topic. The podcast is organised by students, and they created the content. During the process they have learned about the process of producing, related technology, media literacy, but also about concept of STEM and its relevance for today life that rely in technology and science. In this presentation, we provide guidance and methodology for creating a school podcast in order to educate students in innovative and engaging way about important topics.
