Dr Amina was the first female scientist on YouTube to showcase the life of a researcher. Dr Amina Yonis is a graduate of four UK universities, including University College London where she graduated with a PhD in Cancer Research. During her doctoral studies, she noticed the lack of female representation in academic spaces and conferences, which motivated her to make a change. Driven by the desire to inspire and empower young girls and women, she started her own YouTube channel. She has now amassed a following of over 250,000 subscribers and her content has been viewed over 11 million times. The Page Doctor has supported millions of students through their services, courses, resources, and online video content. The Page Doctor has been recognised by King’s College London and was awarded the David Walsh Award for outstanding entrepreneurship. Amina has organised events, including at the UK Government House of Commons, where inspiring women share their journeys with her viewers. She has also worked with the Department of Education to support policymakers towards developing appropriate curricula for schools.
