Dr Neveen Abdelaziz
Associate Professor and Programme Director - University of Birmingham Dubai
Dr. Neveen Abdelaziz is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and the Programme director for the MSc Microbiology and Infection at the University of Birmingham Dubai. With two decades of teaching experience across Egypt and the UAE, Neveen brings a deep commitment to creating learning environments that are academically rigorous, inclusive, empowering, and genuinely student focused.
What drives her most is helping students grow in knowledge, confidence, curiosity, and purpose. Whether she’s guiding postgraduates through complex infection science or mentoring early-career academics, her goal is always the same: to help people think for themselves, ask better questions, and find meaning in what they’re learning.
As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Neveen is passionate about reimagining what higher education can be in an age of rapid change. She believes in active learning, real-world assessment, and building spaces where students feel seen, heard, and challenged to do their best work. She often weaves storytelling, research, and reflective practice into her teaching.
Above all, Neveen believes that education isn’t just about what we teach, it’s also about the kind of people we help our students become.
