Country Coordinator - Climate Fresk
In her role as a Country Coordinator, Charlene supports the expansion of Climate Fresk in the UAE, a global, science-based workshop that uses collective intelligence and gamification to make the causes and impacts of climate change understandable for all. She has facilitated Climate Fresk sessions with multinational corporations, government entities, universities, schools and community groups, including high-profile engagements such as a Guinness World Record–breaking Climate Fresk in Abu Dhabi, corporate workshops for leadership teams, large-scale education initiatives with schools and youth programs.
The mission is clear: to equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable future. Climate Fresk UAE has become a catalyst for awareness and engagement, bridging climate literacy with national and corporate net-zero strategies.

Session Summary:
A highly interactive and gamified 'taster' of a Climate Fresk workshop that introduces students, teachers, and leadership to the science of climate change and its direct link to sustainability. Using science-based cards, participants work in groups to uncover the cause-and-effect relationships behind climate change while developing systems thinking skills. Through guided debriefs and a short quiz on real-world impacts, the session makes climate science engaging and accessible, connects classroom learning to global challenges and empowers participants to explore how schools and universities can scale such workshops to build climate literacy, leadership, and community impact.
