Alex Bell
Founding Director - YESfest
Alex Bell is an educator, executive coach and award winning social entrepreneur who works with schools, NGOs and young people to create spaces for learning, leadership and hope. He is the Founding Director of YESfest, a global movement of youth ecological summits designed to empower young people as future stewards of the planet.
Based in London, Alex has spent four decades in education, including leading schools and supporting leaders across the UK and internationally. His work has included co-creating leadership programmes with the Eden Project, coaching leaders at British Army Schools, and helping young people find their voice through initiatives such as Xtalks and Link Online Learners, which connected youth in 37 countries during the pandemic.
He has been invited to share these experiences at events around the world, but his focus remains on listening closely to communities, learning from others and helping ideas take root in practical ways. A Fellow of several professional bodies, Alex sees his role as connecting people, amplifying good ideas and supporting young leaders to shape a better future.

What if community climate action was as compelling to children as anything on screens?
Session Summary:
Generation Alpha and Generation Z will make up the majority of the world’s population in the critical coming years for our planet. So, the need for robust and compelling ways to prepare and motivate those vital young people to make good decisions for themselves, their local and global communities and for the planet has never been more urgent. YESfest (Youth Eco-Summits with a festival vibe) is on a global mission to inspire lifelong community climate action in children aged 8–10, through joyful eco-summits, global gatherings, and community quests. Alex shares insights, case studies and stories of impact where YESfest’s serious intent and yet unorthodox and playful methodologies have built a unique, uplifting and expanding movement of young people making the best and most positive decisions their lifelong dispositions.
