Zeina Chalich

Leader of Learning Technologies and Innovation and Co Founder of #aussieED (Australia's largest professional learning network on twitter)

Zeina is a learning experience designer and international speaker. In her role as Leader of Learning Technologies and Innovation, Zeina leads ‘disruptive’ change in digital pedagogy and personalised learning, creatively integrating technology and design thinking to transform learning experiences and connect communities of learners. Zeina was awarded the CEC Br John Taylor Fellow Research Prize for her work in nurturing creative confidence through STEAM in a Makerspace. She also won a New Voice in Leadership Scholarship from ACEL and the ACU Young Alumni of the Year award for leading sustainable change in Digital Technologies through innovative curriculum and coaching programs. Zeina is passionate about Women in Edtech leadership and was a panelist at Vivid, speaking about ways to inspire the next generation of creative, entrepreneurial and digital women. Zeina is a co-founder of #aussieED founder of the #makerEDau group.

Participants will learn about emerging digital technologies and design thinking with a focus on app development to solve an authentic problem linked to a global goal. They will learn how to use design thinking principles, leading students to create an app with purpose using a range of digital platforms as well as a comprehensive business plan, video demo and pitch to sell their innovative idea. Participants will walk away with practical ways to nurture an innovator's mindset and skillset in any classroom.
