Zaina Mismar is the Learning Technology Officer for the Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan. Zaina Works with stakeholders to provide technical support to universities in implementing pre-service teacher education reforms. Zaina’s focus is to ensure the effective integration of cutting-edge technologies in teaching and learning. Zaina works on identifying technology needs, planning for integration, providing training, designing user guides and manuals and on monitoring implementation throughout the process. Previously, Zaina was Training and Implementation Manager at ChalkTalk where she planned ChalkTalk integration into SAT/ACT high school classes and provided needed trainings and support to teachers in different regions around the world. Zaina started her career in EdTech at Queen Rania Teachers Academy, Jordan’s key organization in providing training and professional development to pre and in-services teachers.

The presentation will focus on how the introduction of a pre service teacher education diploma in Jordan is aiming to transform student outcomes in grades 4-10. The presentation will focus on the following; The current status of teaching , sharing findings of the first national perceptions of teaching survey. The structure of the diploma and how we tackle the issues of cost, scale and access through working though public universities to deliver the program. How university teacher educators and school mentors were trained to support the program the key policy changes made to ensure sustainability of the program and to raise the status of teaching. How technology has been used to scale up access to the program and specifically the technology training given to student educators.
