Tui has been involved in teacher development in NZ and UAE over the past 25 years. More recently, he has provided excellent guidance and mentoring in the area of inclusion that has seen him develop practitioners to a level that provides better opportunities for learners in school eco-systems. Tui has demonstrated to education experts supported by evidenced-based examples that SEN individuals can benefit from learning in mainstream environments with individual learning programs tailored to their needs.
28 February 2019 | 13:30 - 14:00 | English | The Case for Inclusion
Tui has been involved in a pilot program for whole-school inclusion, in partnership with KHDA. The pilot has supported many of the assumptions made about inclusion programs and provided a baseline from which schools in the UAE can develop programs of learning and course content relevant to childrens needs. Tui will be able to describe how the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Framework has improved the learning outcomes of children in schools in the pilot and demonstrate its implementation both vertically and horizontally. He will be able to show that the use of Project Based Learning (PBL) is a vital component in the success of learners pursuing personal growth and development.
