Head of Foundation Stage, Dubai Scholars Private School

Remediana Dias is an educationist, author and blogger. She runs her own NGO Vision Education Society. She has had an amazing professional journey over the course of 26 years in Goa, UK and Dubai. During the last 26 years, she has been an educator, special educator, SENCO, Head of Foundation Stage, Head of Primary and Academic Head.

Remediana studied M.Sc in Specific Learning Difficulties from the University of Southampton in UK. She has completed CACHE Level 5 from Early Years Educational Services in Dubai. She holds a Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA) certification.

She is currently the member of the Senior Leadership Team of Dubai Scholars British School and the Head of Foundation Stage.

Remediana enjoys blogging (https://dyslexiagoa.wordpress.com) and writing about issues related to education. She is a regular contributor to GESS and Teacher Plus. She is the author of the book—Understanding Dyslexia-a guide for teachers and parents.

She has been appointed as National Executive Member of Global Education Leaders Organisation for Goa-India and is the President of Global Education Leaders Organisation in Dubai. She is a GESS Speaker at the Global Education Leaders Summit and article contributor to GESS.

Remediana has received several awards in recognition of her work. As a student in UK, she received the EVA Award for Excellence in Volunteering at Southampton University, UK – Student Community Action Volunteer of the year 2006-07.

She is a proud recipient of the Woman of the Year Award 2020 by Modentum India and the Tejaswani International Award 2021 as an Educationist.

She was also the Winner of the Broad Outlook Learner Teacher Award (BOLT) in 2004 instituted by AIR INDIA and the Finalist at the All India Tata Consultancy Services-Education World Teachers Awards in April 2005. Remediana was awarded International Ambassador of Peace by the World Literary Forum for world peace and human rights.

Educos Invite of Scholars conferred the SHEE Best Woman Leader Award on her on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2020.

She is also the recipient of the Gurupnishad Samman by the Charles Walter Society for Innovation and Research.

She has been recognized as a Positive Education Champion by the Global Human Rights Association.

WAC Book of Records presented her with the Global Award of Excellence for her contribution in the field of education.

 Remediana Dias is the Good Will Ambassador, Dubai for the Igniting Young Minds Foundation. She was appointed Global Peace Ambassador by the IQRA Foundation.

Remediana represented India at the International Festival for World Peace at Seoul, South Korea in July 2004.

She was the Camp Leader twice at the National Trekking Expedition in 2003 and 2004. She has been featured in the local newspaper “Navhind Times” in the column ‘Women Power’.

In this session, we’ll go over what leadership means in the context of EYFS, why it’s so important, and provide actionable tips on how to start becoming the leader that your school needs. There are amazing FS sections across some of the schools in Dubai, who beat the odds to provide exceptional experiences, and if you take a close look at these schools, you will undoubtedly trace it back to strong leadership. So how do you become one of these great leaders? Attend the session to learn how to improve your leadership skills!
