Six GEMS Education Schools Rated ‘Outstanding’ and Six Rated ‘Very Good’ in KHDA’s DSIB Inspections

Six GEMS Education schools have been rated ‘Outstanding’ and six have been rated ‘Very Good’, cross different curricula, in the recently announced Knowledge & Human Development Authority’s (KHDA) 2017-18 Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) results

Sir Christopher Stone, Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education, said: “While we always aim to achieve better, we are very pleased indeed with our schools’ DSIB inspection results. We are committed to improving the ratings of our schools further over the next year by focusing and investing in leadership, learning and teaching. We want our children to receive the very best education possible to repay their parent’s trust in GEMS Education.”

GEMS Jumeirah College retained its ‘Outstanding’ rating, since 2010. Two other National Curriculum for England (NCFE) schools also retained their ‘Outstanding’ status, GEMS Jumeirah Primary School and GEMS Royal Dubai School.

GEMS Wellington International School, which offers both NCFE and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, were ranked outstanding for the ninth consecutive year. Students at the school had an average IB Diploma point score of 35.5, the highest in the UAE. The IB Diploma challenges students to consider and debate big ideas through sustained inquiry and critical reflection.

GEMS Dubai American Academy and GEMS Dubai Modern Academy are currently the only American and Indian curricula schools in Dubai to have an ‘Outstanding’ rating. Dubai American Academy offers both an enriched American curriculum and the IB Diploma to its students.

GEMS Dubai Modern Academy has been rated ‘Outstanding’ for the seventh consecutive year. Modern is uniquely placed as it is UAE’s only dual curriculum school offering the Indian CISCE and ISC, and the IB Diploma Programme option for Grade 11 and Grade 12, with consistently excellent results in both the ISC and IBDP.

Six GEMS Education schools have been rated ‘Very Good’ including five schools who maintained their very good rating from previous years GEMS Our Own English High School, GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis, GEMS Wellington Primary School, The Millennium School and, The Winchester School.

GEMS World Academy was the sixth schools to earn a ‘Very Good’ rating this year, their inspection report stating the school provides ‘an inclusive nature that ensures all high-qualityy care and support for all students.’

Sir Stone concluded: “GEMS Education believes there is a genius in every child and supports each student throughout their education journey. We believe in developing the whole child, leading through innovation and pursuing academic excellence.”
