26 February 2020 | 17:00 - 17:30 | Symbiosis - Power of Community in Transforming Education
The session highlights the possibilities & benefits of community-led leadership, with Indian Schools in Oman - a network of 21 community schools across Oman as the point of reference. As not-for-profit schools that cater to diverse financial, cultural, regional and language backgrounds, the system has many limitations. Yet the schools have achieved many milestones in the past decades. We lead & achieve our successes by the power of the people! We utilize the symbiotic power of people at various levels: 1. Management & Leadership 2. Internal Resources & 3. Stakeholders Community leaders, Industrial Experts, Parents, Teachers and Volunteers form the backbone of the school management, from various task forces to the Board of Directors, the single apex body governing the school network. The session shall talk in detail about these, highlighting how even in the age of competition, collaboration & communal engagement can bring about solutions that are cost-effective & inclusive.
