David is an educational technology professional with 22 years of experience in over 50 countries of technological implementation, business development and large-scale programme management. His key areas of expertise are in strategic education leadership and development, international business development and relationships, national and Global programme development and implementation and organizational growth and development. David currently runs an educational consultancy and advisory company SOWWIF Ltd, specialising in supporting edtech implementation from the teacher, learner and educational outcomes perspective. He recently ran a pilot programme for the Asian Development Bank in Uzbekistan on the effective use of edtech in STEM education and was CEO of the largest teacher PD programme in the world for the government of Egypt. He has advised Edtech companies on establishing new markets and government relationships and advised multiple organisations on Ed tech futures and creating solutions to meet the educational need. David is at heart an educationalist, and his company name sums up his approach to technology in education, always asking So What and What If.
This case study presentation is designed to prompt discussion on how the planning and implementation of education technology should be approached in private schools in developing countries. There is no such hing as a one size fits all, but the session will describe and discuss the key principles of how new technologies can improve the delivery of and quality of learning, using the work done at Ullens School, Nepal as an example.
