I knew that there was so much more to dance than just learning “steps.” So I started the dance academy as a place where children and young adults could get together, get fit, make new friends, get inspired, learn about the culture behind a dance, enrichment and see the beauty in this world through dance and performance. Dancing releases a magical sense of well-being to the mind, soul, and body.

Presentation and discussion of importance of dance, health and wellbeing. How dance is inclusive to everyone, while encouraging self-confidence, discipline and respect of the performing arts. Physical fitness is something every child and young adult needs. Teaching students to love being active produces benefits that last a lifetime, including stronger muscles and bones, increased coordination, flexibility, strength, balance, and better posture. Memorising choreography and executing complex movements is an excellent exercise for the brain. Dance also teaches skills that help in many aspects of life including: increased focus, greater ability to listen to and follow directions, practice overcoming challenges, and greater ability to express emotion. Dance also helps develop rhythm, coordination and music appreciation. To strengthen self-esteem while helping creativity and expression, fostering a can-do attitude in everyone.
