Christa Haire

English & Drama Teacher

I am a secondary teacher and I am currently in my second year of teaching in Dubai. Prior to moving to Dubai I taught Drama to 11-18 years for 5 years in Northern Ireland. This year I have introduced Drama as a brand new subject to the secondary curriculum in Raffles International School. I strongly believe that the integration of Drama into a curriculum can not only harness and boost language acquirement and development, reading, confidence and communicative skills. All of which are important to me as an English EAL teacher also. It also provides children with a range of skills that will help to foster success in the real life world of work and beyond. As a teacher I am always searching for creative and interesting ways to teach and as a result I received an award for innovation at the Innoventures Education Awards 2018.
