Basim Ibrahim is a young Saudi expert in Business & Investment Development. He started from the private sector then led the Investments Attraction & Development within Saudi Education & Training Sector at the General Investment Authority. His duties include attracting “Game Changers”, high-impact/value investments, and world-class businesses to Saudi market in order to strengthen Saudi economy. He is also responsible for enhancing the business climate for new & existing companies. Basim is responsible for improving the ecosystems around several sectors including the Education Sector by bringing all the key stakeholders together and by working with them closely. He is a Colorado School of Mines alumni, Global Shapers Community alumni, Master Project Manager, Business/investment Developer, and a Founder of several Startups.

Saudi Arabia’s focus on education is creating major opportunities for the private sector, but more needs to be done to increase investor confidence in the Kingdom. Education is the largest area of expenditure in Saudi Arabia’s 2020 budget, with SAR 197 billion (US$52.5 billion) allocated to develop the sector. The private sector has a crucial role to play in realizing Vision 2030 ambition. To encourage investment, SAGIA has put in place a suite of services to improve ease of access and offer support to investors at every step of their journey.
