After graduating university in Scotland with a BeD hons degree in education, I made my way over to Dubai where I have been teaching for seven years. I have practised meditation personally for a few years and have enjoyed reading and learning as much as I can about well-being in general. Eventually I found a way to amalgamate my passions for both education and for the well-being of children with a particular focus on mindfulness. I have recently launched a website, www.mindfulteachinguae.com, as a platform for educators and parents alike to share mindfulness and well-being activities and ideas, all to help young children develop an awareness that prepares them for life's occurrences.

Join Ashley for some light hatha yoga to start off your day bringing balance to mind and body. After completing her 200-hour yoga training in Rishikesh in India, Ashley now brings her practice to the children in her class and has offered staff sessions at the school where she works. Beginners are welcome and the session will last 30 minutes followed by a ten minute meditation session, no previous experience is required, only the wish to start your day with a stretch and a smile. Everyone welcome, just don't forget to bring your own yoga mat!

Ashley will share the process of well-being at JESS so far, using this journey to highlight practical ideas for introducing gratitude, mindfulness and character strengths into your school. She will discuss the idea of mindful strengths, a positive psychology concept, sharing resources that you can use in your classroom.
