Inclusive Leadership: Empowering Teams and Creating Impact Beyond the Classroom
Session Summary:
In this talk, I’ll be reflecting on how inclusive leadership plays a pivotal role in creating environments where both staff and students can thrive. I’ve had the privilege of being supported by leaders who not only encouraged my professional growth but also pushed me to pursue further education, take on new challenges, and ultimately progress from a teaching assistant to Assistant SENCO. These leaders understood that true inclusion starts with empowering those around you.
I’ll share how their commitment to staff development, whether through education or providing new opportunities, has led to better outcomes for students. Inclusion isn't just about modifying the classroom for diverse learners; it’s about ensuring that the people who support those students are also supported, educated, and encouraged to grow. When leaders invest in their teams, they are creating a ripple effect that enhances the quality of education for all students, especially those who need it most.
