UAE health, education sectors record significant growth: Sheikh Mohammed

In a personal address to the people of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has promised to personally lead a 550 member team to ensure all targets for the country are met by 2021.

Sheikh Mohammed touched on the achievements made so far in all sectors, including education, where AED 9.75 billion is spent a year, and the rate of high school graduates has reached 93 per cent, putting the country amongst the highest globally.

“When it comes to health and education, which we consider to be among the most important sectors for our people, the indicators of the health sector point to a significant progress. Our expenditure on the health sector has increased from AED 1.18 billion when I first assumed office to over AED 3.82 billion currently. The number of doctors has increased from ten to over seventeen thousand,” he wrote.

His statement also touched on the achievements made so far in all sectors, including Foreign Direct Investment going up from AED 179 billion to AED 410 billion in the past 10 years.

In finance, the country’s’ banks’ total assets has increased from AED 859.6 billion to AED 2.47 trillion.
