The British Safety Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE's Ministry of Education, to help it update the national curriculum incorporating updated health, safety and environmental management information

At a ceremony held during the BETT 2018 technology show in London in January 2018, both parties entered into a partnership which will see the British Safety Council sharing its health and safety expertise and working closely with educational bodies in the UAE, who will deliver the new national curriculum incorporating updated HSE information.

Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said, “We are delighted to enter into partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Education to help it update the UAE’s national curriculum and incorporate the latest health, safety and environmental management, knowledge and international best practice information.

“This relationship is an expression of the UAE Ministry of Education’s confidence in our health, safety and environmental management expertise, which we share internationally.

“We hope that by working closely with the Ministry of Education and other academic bodies in the United Arab Emirates, we will play an important role in helping future generations gain an understanding of the benefits of the effective management of health, safety and environmental risks for society and businesses.”

H.E. Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, undersecretary for Inspection & Support Services at the Ministry of Education, UAE, said, “We are pleased to strengthen and develop further our existing relationship with the British Safety Council, which is an important strategic partner in our efforts to achieve excellence in education, training, capacity building and professional development of our staff and students in the field of health, safety and environmental management.
