Sharjah students to get Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards

SHARJAH: Students from International School of Creative Science (ISCS), Sharjah, ranked among the top achievers for the Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards in the UAE and the World. The top accolades were achieved in iGCSE Mathematics, Human Biology, Classical Arabic, Arabic First Language, Physics and A Level Business Studies.

This recognition comes in line with the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda to develop a first-rate education system that transforms the teaching methods and aims to rank students among the best in the world in different subjects, including the Arabic language.

Pearson is a UK based world leading education company which owns Edexcel, the global private education and assessments board. Each year, Pearson recognises students around the world to help inspire and motivate learners and drive positive change in their lives.

Six students from the ISCS were acknowledged this year for their outstanding achievements under the categories: ‘Highest Mark in the UAE’, ‘Highest Mark in the Middle East’ and the ‘Highest Mark in the World’.

The students are Abdullah Ahmed (highest mark in the Middle East in iGCSE Physics), Ansari Mohammed Hamza (highest mark in the world in iGCSE Mathematics), Fatma Moustafa Ahmed Mohamed Eltayeb (highest mark in the UAE in iGCSE Human Biology), Heba Farid Abed (highest mark in the UAE in iGCSE Arabic), Luqman Obaid Rashid Al-Maani (highest mark in the UAE in iGCSE Classical Arabic), and Aishah Anis (highest mark in the Middle East in A Level Business Studies).

Samar Murad, Principal at International School of Creative Science said, “It is an honour to have our students ranked among the top students not only in the region but also globally. This summer, we were also very proud to announce the outstanding academic performance of ISCS students for the year 2016-17 in the iGCSE and AS/A Level exams.”

These Awards give educators the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of their learners and the hard work of their teachers,” she concluded.

Pearson congratulated the iGCSE students for their outstanding results and for winning awards in the best categories in the UAE, the region and the world.

Pearson will be issuing “Pearson High Achievers Certificates” to the students qualifying with a minimum of five A/A* in GCSE/ International GCSE and a minimum of three A/A* in GCE/IAL in the June 2017 exams
