Cisco opens Middle East innovation hub in Dubai

The IT and networking company recently unveiled its Innovation and Experience Center (IXC) in the UAE emirate.

The new facility will reportedly showcase innovations in digital transformation in sectors like retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and financial services.

According to the company, visitors to the centre will have the chance to experience the latest Cisco systems applied to real-world, real-time scenarios, in addition to getting a 360° view of technologies that deliver tangible business outcomes.

The 836m2 virtual experience facility was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chief executive of the Emirates Group, together with Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco, UAE state news agency, WAM, reported.

Sheikh Ahmed said: “We are keen on cultivating a culture of excellence, innovation, and creativity in our bid to firmly establish Dubai among the most innovative cities in the world.

“Cisco’s decision to base its Middle East Innovation and Experience Center in Dubai reflects the city’s stature as an emerging, dynamic global innovation hub and will support the region’s organisations and businesses to raise the bar for innovation."

Meanwhile, Robbins commented: "Our new Innovation and Experience Center takes a unique approach that will help governments and businesses across the region develop solutions leading to greater opportunities for citizens and customers in the digital age."
