GESS Dubai 2017 begins with the usual hum of productivity

GESS Dubai and GEF 2017 is currently underway at the Dubai World Trade Center. The event started off with a flurry of activity, as attendees and exhibitors engaged in excited conversations over education products currently on display throughout the event.

The event, which is in its 10th year, is known as the largest education conference in the Middle East. Boasting a host of new and returning exhibitors, attendees have the opportunity to visit several pavilions where companies showcase a wealth of educational products from across the globe – the UK, Germany, China, Korea, Finland and the USA.

Simon Blower, Operations Director and Co-Founder of Pobble, is a first time exhibitor at the event. The company also has the good fortune of being one of the GESS Awards finalists this year, an honour that is not lost on Simon.

“I’m delighted that we are finalists in this year’s GESS Awards bringing our exciting products to the UAE,” he shared, “I would also like to congratulate the team at GESS on celebrating ten successful years. I wish them another successful conference.”

A familiar stand at GESS Dubai, Almotahida Education Group has an impressive stand that provides an amazing view of the entire exhibition. Nominated in 5 categories of the GESS Awards this year, Founder & CEO Mohamed M Eliwa beamed with pride at the company’s accomplishments.

“For many years, Almotahida has led initiatives, but the main one has been to establish industry for education in the region by setting up several tracks. One is for solutions and another is for content development, curriculum standards, teacher training, and creating a smart environment for the new stage of blended education,” he said.

CPD sessions are currently underway in the various rooms and are packed with attendees aiming to take advantage of the opportunity to improve their professional development. The rooms dubbed Education In Action, Future Learning, Innovation Stage, Learning Essentials and Neuroscience In Education can easily be found throughout the conference.

Of note, these sessions are free and accredited. Attendees are encouraged to check out the programme in order to see which sessions best suit what they are looking for.

Some of the topics on today’s agenda include STEM Experience, Emergency Preparedness in Schools, Differentiated Learning in the Early Years, Outstanding Leadership of SEND and Teacher Competencies for Infant, Toddlers and Pre-schoolers among other informative topics.
