Martina Gomes

I am Ms. Martina Gomes, serving as the Academic Supervisor, Head of Assessments, and Social Science Department Mentor at JSS Private School, Dubai since December 2021. As a member of the senior leadership team, I monitor student performance, conduct staff inductions, deliver CPD, and prepare and implement school policies. I also review staff performance, conduct learning walks and audits, and promote academic programs.

From 2019 to March 2022, I was the Head of the Social Science and MEP Department, where I introduced STEAM-based lessons, virtual field trips, practical study, and regular CPD. Under my leadership, the department was rated "Very Good" in the UAE Social Science Inspection's first year. I also digitized lesson observation reports and led the Action Research Team.

Between 2015 and 2019, I taught Social Science to grades 9 and 10, coordinated Model United Nations, and held various roles, including House Warden and Quiz Club Teacher Incharge.

Prior to JSS, I was the Head of Senior School Geography at St James School, India, and taught Geography and Economics. I also taught Middle School Geography and Environmental Science at Aditya Academy Senior Secondary School.

My certifications include MOE Leadership, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and Train the Trainer, Subject Expert from Gulf Sahodhya. I excel in strategic planning, educational leadership, team management, and performance appraisal.
