Wendy Harris

Director of Inclusion - Wellington and British Independent Cluster of schools, WIS Assistant Headteacher GEMS Wellington International School

Wendy Harris

I love teaching, and started my career in the UK leading Drama departments, before retraining in SEND. I am passionate about Inclusive education and I strongly believe that every student has the right to be educated in a school like GEMS Wellington International School (WIS). I love the lifelong learning that working in education provides, and I have a number of post graduate qualifications, including Advanced Certificates in Education in both SpLD and Autism and the Masters level Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements (CPT3A). I have recently embarked on the Masters journey, and I am excited for what the Masters in Education course will add to my practice and strategic thinking.

I joined WIS in 2010 as Secondary Head of Inclusion. In my current role as Assistant Headteacher for whole school Inclusion, I love to see how students progress, and I am very proud that our dedication to Inclusion has been reflected in outstanding judgments from KHDA every year. I am also proud to be the GEMS Director of Inclusion for the Wellington and British Independent Cluster of Schools, which allows me to work across the schools to develop and expand experiences for all stakeholders.
