Prof. Amjad Gawanmeh

Amjad Gawanmeh is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Dubai, UAE, and Affiliate Adjunct Professor at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He earned his B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from JUST, Jordan (1998), and his M.S. (2003) and Ph.D. (2008) from Concordia University. With an extensive publication record including 2 edited books, 3 book chapters, over 50 Scopus-indexed journal papers, and more than 80 conference papers, Dr. Gawanmeh has established himself as a leading researcher. He served at Khalifa University (2010-2019) before joining the University of Dubai in January 2020, and has been a visiting scholar at Syracuse University, University of Quebec, and Concordia University. His research focuses on verification of hardware, security, and healthcare systems; modeling and analysis of complex systems including Cyber-Physical Systems; and performance analysis. He serves as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Cyber-Physical Systems (IGI Global) and Associate Editor for IEEE Access and Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences (Springer). He reviews for multiple IEEE, Elsevier, Wiley, and MDPI journals.

An active IEEE Senior Member, Dr. Gawanmeh serves as IEEE UAE Section Conference Coordinator, GRSS UAE Section Society Chapter Chair, and IEEE HKN-Nu-Nu Chapter Advisor. He has co-chaired workshops at major conferences including Globecom, ICC, and ICDCS, and is also an ACM member.
