John Short Ring

I am currently Head of the Senior School at Kent College Dubai. Before taking on this role I founded and ran my own global leadership consultancy service for schools, Support-Edu; I supported teachers, leaders and schools in the UK, Middle East, Australia and Thailand. This company built upon my experience in the UK. I was Deputy Head at KCS Wimbledon for 6 years; predominantly responsible for staff development, leadership training and digital transformation, but I also ran admissions, co-curricular education, partnerships and the operational side of the school throughout my tenure. I’ve also undertaken consultancy work with BCG and McKinsey, advised schools on senior leadership and headship appointments, and developed professional learning systems for schools in the UK and internationally. Before working at King’s I was Director of Learning and Innovation at Epsom College and Head of History and Politics at Trinity School, Croydon. I achieved a first from UCL in History and hold the CSML from Harvard. I am married with two young sons, both of whom are being persuaded to become Liverpool fans!
