Jim Stearns

- Over 30 years experience in teaching, including 11 years in Sharjah at the VISS Schools.
- Head teacher for 17 years in UK and Sharjah.
- In the UK, was a member of the Executive Council of Independent Schools Association (Chaired the London South region, Academic Policy and ICT Committees). Has been a governor of two schools, as Chair and Vice-Chair.
- Was an Apple Professional Learning Specialist Leadership Stream.
- Experience in a range of schools: Primary/Secondary, Government/Private, Academic/non-selective.
- Extensive experience of chairing committees, setting agendas according to strategic need and balancing input from all constituents.
- Currently Deputy Director of Schools for the VISS group, a group of 6 (and growing) private schools owned by the Sharjah Government.
- Particular interest in use of data to support strategic decisions and outcomes for students.
